Our History

4G Networks is more than ten years in the making.


4G Networks started in the international voice termination business as Telecom International Group. We ran voice routes into various countries around the world. About ten years ago, when running several routes into Africa, it was decided that we should focus on securing licenses and frequency that would enable the deployment of advanced wireless networks into those and similar rapidly developing emerging markets.


4G Networks, or our holdings company Global Developments, have secured Telecom licenses in seven countries in Africa. These typically have frequency allocations suitable for the deployment of LTE based 4G networks (hence the name!). 


Deployment of the first two countries will commence in 2016 with others to follow in 2017. We aim to have five markets in service by the end of 2017 while we continue to secure licenses and frequency in targeted African countries to allow the ongoing expansion of the company.

With a name like 4G Networks it is no surprise that our focus is high speed wireless Internet. 


Within the 4G space we are a Service Provider with plans to achieve best in class status in each market we operate.

Our focus is very clear - emerging African markets.


We have secured licenses in eight countries to date. This year our first market is moving to commercial deployment, and by the end of 2017 we expect to be live in at least four countries.
